Amazon MGM Studios decided not to continue the series for business reasons.
One of these characters is Cindy Moon, a young Korean-American woman who was bitten by the same spider as Peter Parker. Deadline is now reporting that Prime Video is releasing a spin-off about Cindy, Spider Society: Silk Cityfall for good Noir.
Remove the plug
Although the creators have put a lot of time and energy into it, that’s it for now Spider Society: Silk City. The series has had a bumpy road that now seems to have finally come to an end.
Official approval was given in 2022 and Angela Kang (Walking Dead) as writer, showrunner and executive producer. Although his scenario was well received, higher-ups decided to pull the plug.
Gone as a superhero
Instead, the choice fell into the second series, viz Noir starring Nicolas Cage. Cage previously lent his voice to an animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. His character Spider-Man Noir is a decadent private investigator in 1930s New York with a superhero past.
The rights to Cindy Moon’s character are thus returned to Sony Pictures Television. Maybe we can look forward to another attempt in the future.
