On Monday, the Noorderzon Festival of Performing Arts & Society announced three new performances from the international program, two collaborations from the &Society program and the first artist’s music program.

From Canada, the award-winning circus People Watching arrives with its show Play Dead about the madness of existence, Tiago Rodrigues asks almost impossible questions about the complexity of humanity in Catarina, and the beauty of killing fascists and Heartefact (France) will make you hungry. strange show A Brief History of Hamburgers and Other Stories, starring a hamburger. This work deals with issues of guilt, love, sexuality and the comfort of food, especially hamburgers.

The festival also cooperates with local partners again. For example, De Linkse Mannen Lossen Het Op again presents discussion programs on current social themes such as housing and nature, and Platform GRAS offers the audience HOPE in the lecture series of the same name.

Finally, multi-instrumentalist Dylan LeBlanc from the USA will come to Groningen for a concert at the Spiegeltent Pollux in August. “What do you get when you mix Neil Young with Fleet Foxes and growing up surrounded by the greats of music? Dylan LeBlanc!” the organization said. “He effortlessly blends his two great loves, soul and country, into a beautifully melancholic whole.”

The 34th edition of Noorderzon will take place from Thursday 22 August to Sunday 1 September. Noorderplantsoen and several locations in the center of Groningen then form the backdrop for an 11-day festival with a challenging international, national and local program.
