Palha’s bullfight was successful on the horse but was a resounding disappointment in the rest of the fight, in a bullfight in which Francisco José Espada played it completely, a firm Luis Gerpe fell injured and Sánchez Vara tiptoed in the Plaza de Las Ventas.

Without being a brilliant bullfight at all, these afternoons sometimes reveal, without ears, the unmistakable disposition of some bullfighters. This is the case of Francisco José Espada. His first, second of the afternoon, spent a lot of time in the picadors’ breastplate. Thus, in plural because he went first to the goalkeeper, and then to the starting pikeman. He bled his own, and in the last third he attacked his matador’s muleta without dedication and with half a trip. The man from Madrid became very genuine, although without being able to overshadow the poor condition of his antagonist with his attitude.
