“Gentle reader, we’ve been apart too long,” says Lady Whistledown’s voice at the start of the third season of Bridgerton, a costume drama about British high society. The first season was released in 2021 and garnered 82 million viewers on Netflix. A year later, a second season was released, and perhaps even more people watched it.

The release of the third part took longer, partly due to strikes in Hollywood and dissatisfaction of the writers of the series with some scenes. Throughout, there was much speculation as to which of the Bridgerton aristocratic family members would be looking for true love.
