The appointment of the actress and director Magüi Mira as president of the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain on January 12 has inaugurated a new stage in the institution, after a harsh electoral process that ended the mandate of Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, with accusations of lack of transparency and a budget deficit whose magnitude is still being analyzed by the new leadership team. According to Mira, “there is an audit underway and its results will be made public at the next members’ meeting,” he explains in a meeting with this newspaper.
