Velintonia, the house of Vicente Aleixandre (1898-1984) – the last Spanish poet to win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1977 -, through which writers of several generations passed, will be declared this Wednesday by the Governing Council of the Community of Madrid, as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), in the category of Intangible Heritage. “This figure of protection recognizes the cultural and symbolic value of this space, considered fundamental for the development and dissemination of contemporary Spanish culture,” says the Community of Madrid.
