Garcigrande must be one of those ranches that ten or twelve bullfighters sign up for when the company begins to design an important fair; That’s what those responsible for the cartels complain about, that they have to rack their brains to convince at least nine of the applicants that only three can fit in one afternoon.
It is also true that this livestock iron has provided important triumphs to more than one, reason more than enough for the representatives of the greats to line up at the doors of the offices; but it has always been foolish kindness that has generally characterized these bulls.
It is clear, then, why there is so much bullfighting demand, because the bull maintains its risk, there would be more to go, but that anodyne nobility predominates in its behavior that allows the confidence that others do not even glimpse.
Confidence that is synonymous with unbearable drowsiness, which is what appears in the bullring when there is no bull, but rather a meek, outcast and poised caricature. Precisely, this could be the summary of this afternoon’s celebration.
The announced bulls, two of them and a hat made of the same iron returned as invalids, were not useful for the real bullfighter, but rather for a tasteless and boring tentadero. Not even Torrealta’s first hat, another holy man with syrup in his gut, who allowed Talavante to rehearse a salon performance in the patio of his house that only excited those who come to the square with the determined intention of amortizing the price of admission. A foolish bull that comes and goes pitifully and a man dressed in lights who tries to show off as if he had mastered fierceness and caste can never be the object of a prize.
There were no options for Morenito de Aranda and Pablo Aguado; Well, the fact that there wasn’t one would be a matter of discussion. The first, for example, encountered two four-legged saints, and only in some isolated moment was the bullfighter able to silence the murmur of the bullring, unequivocal proof that he was not interested in what was happening in the ring.
He received his first on his knees at Porta Gayola, which means at the bullring gate, but it was not true, because the bullfighter stood in the middle, very close to the center of the ring, a custom already used by the vast majority of those who risk this fate. Morenito had a hard time because the bull stopped at the exit, perhaps disconcerted at seeing himself surrounded by so many people, he stopped and if his bullfighter doesn’t get up quickly he earns an announced somersault. But nothing happened, fortunately.
Morenito made a superficial mess, which amounted to very little, detached and without control, and all his work took place amid general apathy. He improved against the fourth, but only in a few muletazos in which the bullfighter truly commanded the attack of his noble collaborator. Aranda de Duero’s right-hander did not convince.
And better yet, without any stridency, Pablo Aguado was seen today, very determined and graceful with the cape – he showed off with verónicas and stockings in slow motion, and in an airy galleo por chicuelinas -, and he practically couldn’t say anything with the crutch. Invalid was his first, and the sixth hat of Torrealta was worn out and dull.
In short, today’s bullfight, the one that ten or twelve bullfighters would bid for in their day, has been, in truth, a real firecracker.
Garcigrande/Morenito, Talavante, Aguado
Bulls of Garcigrande -third and fifth, returned as invalid; The first hat belonged to the same iron and came out in sixth place and was also returned; the second, of From Torreawell presented, astifino, meek and very noble – unequal in presentation, meek, soft, casteless and noble. Third hat, also from From Torreawell presented, astifino, outcast and lackluster.

Alejandro Talavante: puncture, half crossed and a madness (silence); contrary and loose lunge (ear with protests).
