Ali Cherri has spent half his life working with ruins, wounded bodies and landscapes devastated by history. The Franco-Lebanese artist, with great recognition in the world of contemporary art, is dedicated to exploring what effects wars leave on people, objects and territories, and how bodies survive these conflicts and the ideologies that lead us to them. Born in Beirut 50 years ago, in the midst of the Lebanese civil war, Cherri belongs to a generation raised with direct experience of the conflict. But, in November 2024, the violence he was familiar with since childhood returned to his life in the most brutal way.
