The Vegetarian Society is getting a new home in Ancoats

The Vegetarian Society has bought Generation House, 15 Jersey Street in Manchester’s upcoming Ancoats area, from Benjamin Armitage (Hyde) Limited for an undisclosed sum.

Generation House is 3,687 sq ft of office space and is fully occupied by The Vegetarian Society, advised by Savills, .

Richard McIlwain, chief executive of The Vegetarian Society, commented: “The Vegetarian Society is a Manchester institution, headquartered in and around the city since 1848. It’s great to be back in the city centre, within thriving Ancoats and in a building that will allow us to set up our new teaching kitchen’ COOK!’ and develop new urban green areas in the back for use by schools and community groups.

Andrew Cooke, Associate Director of Tenant Representation at Savills Manchester, commented: “After selling their Altrincham headquarters last year, The Vegetarian Society have been looking for a new long-term home for their operations and Generation House was the perfect fit for them. requirements related to the owner’s use. We are thrilled to be able to purchase this unique building on their behalf.
