Joan Subirats (Barcelona, 74 years old) combines half a century of academia – he is a professor of Political Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona – and a short but intense political experience: he was deputy mayor in the Barcelona City Council with Ada Colau and became, for two years, Minister of Universities. A life dedicated to the study of public policies, with interest in other issues such as inequality or municipalism. Now publish the essay The gap between knowing and doing (Anagrama), where he explores the relationships between scientific knowledge and political decisions.
