As we reported earlier, among the changes is a proposed return to the stamp duty thresholds that were in place before the 2022 mini-budget. If the Chancellor does not freeze thresholds at their current levels, first-time buyers will pay an extra £6,250 in stamp duty on a £425,000 home from Spring.
