On every Saturday and Sunday, this is the sister sale to St Augustine’s in Kilburn (regarded by some as London’s best car boot, and always over-subscribed). The Princess May boot is usually quieter and full of hidden gems. Retro wares are the speciality, so expect jewellery and clothing — plus a little burger van.
Vintage is the name of the game over at Crystal Palace car boot sale, with antiques, mid-century furniture, retro vinyls and general vintage bric-à-brac on offer. While you’re probably more likely to find a neo-classical dining set than a vintage Burberry trench, this south London event is a treasure-hunter’s dream. West London’s best car boot sale is hosted each month on a Sunday (the next is November 3), and with hundreds of vendors present, it’s worth making a beeline for each one. An array of plant sellers marks Chiswick out as a must for the green-fingered. Still, with a classic mix of toys, vintage clothes, jewellery and vinyls, there’s truly something for everyone.
