Plaza de Las Ventas closes the season with almost a million spectators | Culture

A total of 936,532 spectators have passed through the Plaza de Las Ventas in the 59 bullfighting shows that have been held between March 24 and October 12, according to a report prepared by the Plaza 1 company, manager of the bullring.

38 bullfights, 17 bullfights and 4 bullfighting shows have been announced and the average attendance has been 69% of the total capacity of 22,964 seats on sale, which represents an increase of 67,748 viewers compared to the data for the 2023 season.

On 28 evenings—almost half of the festivities held—there were more than 18,000 spectators, and on 15 of them the “No tickets” sign was posted.

In the artistic section, the Puerta Grande de Las Ventas has been opened on 7 occasions: the matadors Borja Jiménez, Fernando Adrián and Enrique Ponce, the rejoneadores Guillermo Hermoso de Mendoza and Diego Ventura, and the bullfighters Alejandro Chicharro and Jarocho.

Finally, 376 cattle jumped into the Las Ventas ring, of which 22 did so as hats; and 31% of the fights were applauded in the drag.
