VEENDAM – And there they were suddenly in Veendam, arriving on the STAR train from Stadskanaal. Fifteen ladies dressed in red and purple from the Red Hat Society to explore Veendam and then have lunch at the Brouwhotel Parkzicht.
“We’re all on the same ladder, just on different rungs.” is the women’s motto.
The primary goal of the Red Hat Society is to connect women over 50 through healthy activities in terms of culture and/or sports, which will raise their quality of life to a higher level. As in other parts of the world, these women also organize all kinds of activities in local ‘chapters’ (sections) with their own queen.
