Sedgley Local History Society is hosting a Black Country-based film and quiz night at its first meeting of the new year next week.
The society’s Elaine Buckley said the evening will feature interesting film footage focusing on the history of the Black Country, as well as a couple of rounds of Black Country-based quizzes.
The event will be held on Thursday January 9 at St Andrew’s Church in Bilston Street, Sedgley, from 7.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend and entry is £2.
The society’s previous meeting, held by former history teacher Quintin Watt, looked at a century of tragic accidents on road, water and rail in a time when health and safety regulations did not exist. He talked about stagecoach cases, canal drownings, runaway trains and trams, revealing fascinating details about everyday life and the dangers of public transport.
