Nintendo’s video game and console company announced on Wednesday the protagonists of the film The Legend of Zelda. Bo Brasson will assume the role of Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will give life to Link.
The project, led by Wes Ball, has a script by T. S. Nowlin and is co -produced by Miyamoto and Avi Arad. Together with Nintendo, Sony accompanies him in the financing of production and both have announced that the premiere in theaters will be on May 7, 2027.
During the selection process, Mason Thames and Brady Hepner arrived at the final round to play Link. For the role of Zelda, among the candidates was Hunter Schafer, according to sources cited by Deadline.

Finally, Zelda’s role was assigned to Bo Braason, who has participated in the film Censor (2021) and in series as Renegade Nell. It is also part of the cast of Sterling Pointan upcoming Prime Video production. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, chosen to play Link, has acted in Pinocchio (2022), the curse of Bly Manor y Everything’s Going to Be Great.
The Legend of Zelda franchise, created by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, premiered in 1986. Since then it has sold 150 million units and has included key titles such as Ocarina of Time (1998), being active in several generations of Nintendo consoles.
