It is 30 years since the publication of bare feet and 20 years of oral fixationtwo of the albums that marked Shakira’s career. To celebrate, the Colombian artist released an EP early Thursday morning with five songs from the two albums, re-released in collaboration with Spotify Anniversary, an initiative of the music platform. Among the chosen topics is Hips Don’t Lieon this birthday in collaboration with Ed Sheeran and the artist Beéle, also Colombian. “We are an unexpected trio,” comment the two artists in a video published by the singer on her Instagram account.
In the social media publication, Shakira offers a small preview of the collaboration with Sheeran, whom she met at a gala at the Met Museum in New York. From that day, the British artist remembers that the party ended until five in the morning. “You were the one who was looking for her,” the author of Shape of You. For this new version, the singer plays the part that rapper Wyclef Jean did in 2005. “I didn’t see myself playing him,” he confesses.
The other four songs with which he celebrates these two anniversaries with his fans are Bare feet, White dreams, Anthology, The wall y January day. “These two albums changed everything for me and for many other people,” Shakira says on Instagram. The first, she explains, “is much more rock, like I started out, as a rock artist. I was crazy about Seattle bands, alternative rock. It was what inspired me the most.”
Con oral fixation He remembers that he gave himself over to the fusion, in which he was installed for the rest of his career. “So many memories and songs that formed me as an artist and that were part of the path of Latin music in the world. I hope you like it, I love you!,” he writes.
The two albums have more than six billion views worldwide, according to Spotify data.
