Each delivers one or more showtune with ironic pizzaz. Baylie Carson’s Ocean, a child of hippie Catholic-Jewish parents who has become an overbearing right-wing brat, kicks things off, dissing her classmates in a bouncy high school musical number. “Never learnt to read; never gonna breed; straight to jail, guaranteed,” she brightly ticks them off, one by one.
