R.O.I at Hampstead Theatre Downstairs review: fast-talking, big thinking

And yet, I was thoroughly entertained and provoked throughout every fast-talking, big-thinking moment of this, even the bizarre interlude when the three main characters bond over a version of a 1902 Pearl Bailey song, played by Paul on a virtual-reality piano. Again wisely, Loeb sets the play in a world where the tech is recognisable but slightly tweaked. Characters summon up documents with smart glasses or cranial implants. Rosie Elnile’s set is, by contrast, deliberately lo-fi, with plywood desks and sofas popped out of the back wall.
