Narrate space and time. Introduction to architectural photography. With Fer Gómez

A complete course: May 10, 17, 24 and June 14, 2025 | From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This workshop is aimed at people who want to get started in architectural photography, both professionals in the sector and amateurs interested in capturing the architectural world.

The course has a total duration of 16 hoursdistributed in four classes of 4 hours eachcovering everything necessary to make a complete report: pre-production, production, post-production y viewing of works.

Saturday May 10. Pre-production:
The first day focuses on the study of the building: its volume, distribution, encounters, textures, light, etc. Participants will learn how to perform location scouting, plan sunlight, and choose appropriate frames using various tools and applications. In addition, the use of photographic equipment and common workflows will be delved into. A first practice will be carried out with the process of tethering workflowwhere students will be able to observe how the instructor uses his equipment and applies capture techniques.

Saturday May 17th. Production:
On this day, participants will carry out a real report with their own photographic equipment, supervised by the instructor. Topics such as the visual narration of spaces, the choice of focal length, scale and control of depth of field will be addressed. In addition, the active participation of students will be encouraged. At the end of the practical session, the post-production con Adobe Lightroom Classicwhere aspects such as the image import flow, file renaming and organized storage will be discussed.

Saturday May 24th. Post-production:
This day the work will continue on Adobe Lightroom Classicwith practical exercises on selecting and filtering files, developing RAW images, global and local adjustments using masks, creating panoramas and HDR montage. Aspects of color cast treatment and export of the final files will also be discussed. During this session, participants will work on a real report that includes all the aspects covered.

Saturday June 14. Job Viewing:
In the last class, there will be a review of the concepts learned, resolution of doubts and review of the work done by the students. Additionally, we will talk about the professional promotionportfolio management in social networks and the intellectual property rights.

Requirements to participate:

  • Minimum age: 16 years.
  • Advanced photographic concepts will be covered, so the student must know how to measure light, interpret the exposure meter and manipulate the control parameters (ISO, diaphragm and shutter).
  • It is required to have a digital camera that allows you to work in manual mode (M)as well as a variable zoom angle lens that allows you to capture wide frames and close shots.
  • It is necessary to have a tripod with a shoe that allows the camera to be placed at least 140 cm tall.
  • It is recommended to have a shutter release (optional).
  • Fully charged battery and camera charger.
  • Portable con Adobe Lightroom Classic installed and operational.
  • card reader in case the laptop does not have it.

Fer Gómez (Málaga, 1986) combines his work as a professional photographer specialized in architecture with teaching, a field in which he has extensive experience teaching photography in master’s degrees, courses and workshops with different entities and centers, mainly at the Apertura photography school. .
