Actor Stephen Graham speaks to Itv News Arts journalist Nina Nannar about her new series of puberty

When I mentioned to friends and colleagues that I was going to interview Stephen Graham, the answers varied ‘he is my favorite actor’ ‘he is the biggest actor in the world.’

Well, everyone’s favorite actor does not rest on their bearings.

His current Netflix project, which is now on Netflix, is of some of the most amazing TVs I’ve ever seen.

Four -hour episodes that deal with a teenage boy who is accused of injecting schoolgirls to death, they deepen the effects of toxic masculinity, Incels, the Internet’s mind on the minds of young people, the themes of parents – who talk to many families today.

It will be a cooling clock for teenage parents, I say Stephen Graham, who created and wrote the series with award-winning screenwriter Jack Thorne and who also plays the father of the accused 13-year-old boy.

“That’s what it should be,” he replies. “We were raised on a strong television that said something like Blacksff’s sons.

“We have no answers and we do not say that we do …. But as a society we have to look at such things.

“We wanted to put a mirror in society and just say look a little and see what happens.”

He refers to what he calls the pandemic of the knife crime and says that he and director Philip Barantini came up with a drama idea after hearing news of teenagers’ stings, especially young boys who attack girls.

Graham then admits when he sees news, he can quickly judge, as many, and blames parents. He wanted to emphasize how this is not always the case.

“There was no social media in our day,” adds my Barantin. “But there is so much now and it is so accessible.

“There are things that send the kids to the rabbit hole and they believe it is true. It’s a scary time. I have an eight -year -old daughter and I’m scared of the future.”

His advice for parents is simple: “Talk to the children.”

Graham repeats that telling me that one of the main goals for those involved in the project was to “start conversations in homes” between parents and their children about how to navigate today in the world.

He adds that raising a child takes the village.

He and Barantini have known each other for 25 years, meeting actors in the US drama series Band of Brothers series, but their partnership rose to new heights as they made a boiling point, the first film of the UK, which was shot in a single shot.

It is located in an intense restaurant kitchen, it gained tremendous popularity.

As a teenager, they have taken things to another level by doing all four episodes in this way.

Two cameras were used with operators who replaced one seamlessly from one to one to keep the shot.

Police attacks are exciting seizures and in the streets and suburbs.

Two matches were shot for a day during the shooting period, and the best were eventually selected for the broadcast.

Barantini, who directed the series, said that the method allows almost a part of the activity with spectators by dividing the excitement moments.

Among the star products, including Graham and Erin Doherty, is 14-year-old Owen Cooper, who plays Jamie Cooper, 13-year-old leader in the series.

The hundreds of other wishes selected, Cooper, who has never worked before, is a phenomenon.

Graham has long made his goal of his company’s Matriarch production, which he founded with his wife with actress Hannah Walters, under -represented groups on television and movie.

So to play the lead, he wanted a boy who had not attended theater school.

According to Graham, the Owen family lives in the Council’s house and is proud that the drama group has given the ability to be able to struggle to get a foot in the industry.

Owen currently depicts a young Heathcliff in the new Wuthering Heights production alongside Margot Robbie.

If finding Owen is the only thing that comes from this project, Graham tells me he can sleep well today.
