Lancaster tab visit to the training of Stingray offered fun, fitness and new ability for snorkel
We went to the underwater hockey session to see what Lancaster University’s underwater hockey association is about.
Lancaster University’s underwater hockey association provides a unique interesting sports experience that transforms a simple swimming exercise into an intense underwater battle over a small (but very heavy) black disc.
Session itself
The Stingray session was held on Wednesday from 3 pm to 4 pm at the Lancaster Sports Center, which gathered in the lobby. The nerves were immediately calmed by the wonderful nature of all members and the pure passion for their sport. Less soothing was just the number of equipment that you had to learn how to use.
The amazing team members were happy to help to assemble my equipment.
The average player wears as ruthless as all this gear sounds, it makes you move 10 times faster than you’ve ever been.
After receiving the secretary Joel, the need for the need for the need for flap and snorkeling, it was time for a few quick training training.
The exercises consisted of underwater underwater and moving the puck along the swimming pool floor while working effectively turning as an opponent defender. Trust me, it was easier to say than to do.
But after a few expenses it started, and as the first feelings of drowning subsided, the real fun started.
The absence of my intervention in the reel meant that I could really appreciate watching sports. Each person had to carefully transfer to the underwater to avoid deliberate contacts or two members of the same team in the reel. Each member of the team fulfilled his role (Bar Me) and it was phenomenal to see.
I was shocked to learn that not everyone in the underwater hockey team was as experienced as their ability suggested. It is really a certificate of club harmony and acceptance for a reason that makes people get this so fast. It was amazing to see how Captain Ella used her expertise to encourage others during the matches.
Every time the point was scored and the team grouped again, people smiled and it was clear to see how much of the tight family’s external hockey really. A specified hour flew before I knew it was time to pack.
Ready, set, swim!
Underwater hockey training sessions are not a joke! No wonder they have competitive matches against other teams. The last one is against Manchester DS in February.
In addition, the team fights it in the beloved Roses tournament against York every year, where they proudly shows York what color roses are.
Stingrays also competes every year in students’ citizens, a tournament with many universities, such as Liverpool, Oxford and Warwick, among many others!
Out of session
Lancaster University’s underwater hockey association is not just limited to the swimming pool. The club has a weekly social social, swimming pool, trampolin and drinking games to mention.
In addition, after sessions, the group will regularly drink at one of the campus bar after each session when they have changed from translators and snorkels.
Octopush for underwater hockey?
Behold, these mites get worse – but the joining of underwater hockey would not only offer increased lung capacity, but also the ability to be part of a really magnificent club that has been associated with passion for amazing sports.
It is a hospitable and inclusive society, all people and all the bathing talents are welcome. Never snorkel? No problem. Never swim competitively or even regularly? Nothing. All devices are served at sessions, so no Amazon’s deep dive is needed.
