“I position myself against the genocide and favor of the rights of Palestine today and always,” said Judeline singer on the Instagram social network, announcing Wednesday that she will not act in the next edition of the Benicàssim International Festival (FIB), scheduled for July 17, 18 and 19. In rejection of the linking of the event with the KKR American Investment Fund that has invested in Israeli cybersecurity companies and participates in real estate portals that operate in occupied Palestinian territories.

For the singer it is not any connection: “most of what we consume has consequences for a part of the population, even if we are not aware of it; however, in this case, the relationship is direct and evident.”

The artist, originally from the Caños de Meca (Cádiz), planned to act on Friday 18, but has decided to cancel her participation after knowing the relationship between the FIB and KKR, one of the shareholders of the promoter The Music Republic, organizer of the festival.

Judeline has not been the only one. Dozens of artists have ruled out acting at festivals linked to KKR – like Sónar, Resurrection Fest, Sharemusic events! (Love The 90s) or Viña Rock itself – some of which continue to suffer cancellations despite having publicly and expressed their solidarity with Palestine.

Reincidents, Kamikazes and Sons of Aguirre & Scila, among others, have confirmed that they will not return to the Viña Rock, while the root, corn boys or marras no longer appear on several posters. Even the Rivas -VacaciMadrid City Council confirmed that the festivals scheduled for this summer will be held, but has decided to cancel the rest of the contract, which included six most planned concerts for the next three years.
