House prices rise for sixth month running ahead of stamp duty increase

The average UK house price has increased month-on-month for the sixth month in a row, amid fears looming stamp duty changes could dampen the market.

Property values rose by 0.4 per cent month-on-month in February, taking the average house price to £270,500, Nationwide Building Society said.
