Galician writer Miriam Reyes obtained the National Poetry Award 2025 | Culture

Galician writer Miriam Reyes (Ourense, 50 years old) has been awarded the 2025 National Poetry Prize for her work Con (The beautiful Warsovia). A poems that “focuses on the dimensions of the relationship with the other”, as the jury has highlighted in a press release. He describes the poet, editor and translator as a possession of “a linguistic intelligence that thinks and moves, while writing, from the nakedness of consciousness and body.” The award granted by the Ministry of Culture is endowed with 30,000 euros.

At age eight, Reyes emigrated to Caracas, where he studied lyrics at the Central University of Venezuela and subsequently graduated in Hispanic Philology at the University of Barcelona. The jury has pointed out that Reyes “has achieved a very suggestive structure, where sound and rhythm make Con An excellent poems that challenges and diverts all our emotions. ”The prize recognized in his last edition to Chus Pato, joining an extensive list of award -winning, among those who are Miren Agur Meabe, Yolanda Castaño, Aurora Luque, Olga Novo, Pilar Pallarés or Antònia Vicens, among others.
