One-day workshop: January 18, February 24, February 26, March 15, 2025 | From 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
€ Prior registration
This ceramics workshop is designed as a creative and sensory space, designed for boys and girls to have their first introduction to the world of ceramics. Through this activity, creativity, imagination and learning are stimulated through experimentation with ceramic techniques, always promoting enjoyment and fun at all times.
What will we do during the workshop?
In the workshop, boys and girls will work with clay to create one or several pieces using the basic shaping techniques that will be taught to them: pinch technique, iron technique and churros technique. Once the pieces are made, they will proceed to the decoration phase, where they will learn to paint with slips, apply textures and stamps, and practice sgraffito. Through these techniques, they will be able to personalize and give the final touch to their creations.
The workshop takes place in a welcoming and respectful environment, favoring a space of freedom in which boys and girls can express themselves without fear and fully enjoy the creative process.
Workshop structure:
- First part: Forming the pieces with clay.
- Break: Brief break to let the pieces dry slightly, with a snack (water, fruit and cookies) and time to get to know each other better.
- Second part: Decoration of the pieces.
Once the pieces are finished, we carefully store them to fire and glaze them. This process turns clay into ceramic, which gives the pieces durability and the possibility of being used. The fired and glazed pieces will be delivered to the participants a month later at the La Térmica reception.
Workshop benefits:
- Boys and girls learn about and experiment with ceramic material, creating both utilitarian and decorative objects using basic shaping techniques.
- They learn and apply different types of ceramic decoration.
- Self-esteem is encouraged by creating objects that they can use in their daily lives.
- The development of skills such as spatial perception, concentration and creativity is encouraged.
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is aimed at boys and girls between 6 and 12 years old who want to explore their imagination and develop their creative skills without fear of getting dirty. It is recommended that participants come with comfortable clothing or an apron, since the mud is easily cleaned but it is advisable to work in clothing that you do not mind getting stained.
All materials are included in the workshop price, so children do not need to bring anything. In addition, the workshop includes glazing and firing the pieces.
