“Nothing that travels comes out unscathed,” is a fragment of Pala’s song that comes up and summarizes the artistic experience and learning that this workshop aims to achieve.

The objective of the course is to provide the student with theoretical and practical tools for the preparation of the expressive body. Enhance the decisive, witty and comic quality of the performer; In addition to developing a poetic sensitivity, losing the fear of imbalance; imbalance moves us, displaces us and makes the scene alive. The essence of this workshop is based on a Lecoquian base.

The body as an expressive tool, the actor as a vehicle for transmitting emotions, gesture as language and score of a story, comedy and drama hand in hand to talk about the human being.

The course takes place over 3 days with a total of 7 and a half hours of classroom work. This workshop is dedicated to the physical dimension of the actor/actress and aimed at character creation and scenic creation.

This approach to gestural theater is aimed at actors/actresses, theater students, stage creators, as well as people who want to have a first approach to this discipline.

Workshop structure:

  • The journey (of the neutral mask and the countermask).
  • The waiting and listening state.
  • Imbalance as a driving force of emotion.
  • Theater of objects.
  • The identity and intention of the characters.
  • Improvise to create.

Comic Laboratory is the teaching support of TanTonTería Teatro, and from which we want to transmit our knowledge obtained from comedy and gestural theater; applying our formula learned through our methodology and evolution in our work and in the development of artisanal work on the scene.
