CFA Society Cyprus addresses the challenges of the pension system

CFA Society Cyprus has launched a new podcast series focusing on financial issues shaping the economy and society, with the first episode covering the Cyprus pension system.

According to the announcement, this initiative aims to “provide the public with insights and tools to effectively navigate financial management and investment challenges.”

In the opening session, the former president of CFA Society Cyprus, Panayiotis Mavromichalis, and the director of the Financial Literacy Committee, Alexandros Klappas, examined the strengths and weaknesses of the current pension system.

“Our goal is to demystify the complexity of pensions in accessible terms,” ​​Klappas said.

Commenting on the role of private pensions, Mavromichalis said that “politicians must take decisive action to ensure the sustainability of pension coverage”.

The discussion also considered reforms and strategies that individuals can adopt to ensure a stable retirement.
