Have you stopped drawing? Do you think it’s difficult to tell stories through vignettes? Do you think your own story can’t be interesting? This workshop invites you to discover that we all have something to tell, and comics are an exciting and accessible way to do so.
Omar Janaan, a cartoon professional since 2009, will accompany you on this creative journey. You don’t need to be a great illustrator or an experienced storyteller; Here you will learn from scratch to create your own comics. This workshop is perfect for people interested in exploring comics, graphic storytelling, comic strips, graphic novels, graphic humor, fanzines, and visual editing.
What will you learn in the workshop?
- Techniques for drawing and developing characters.
- The fundamentals of the medium: formats, graphic narration and composition.
- How to tell stories that connect with the public.
- The importance of humor in cartoons.
- Editing and creation of own comics, including fanzines and personal projects.
Methodology:
The course combines theoretical and practical blocks and creative games, becoming a space where you can explore your ideas and develop them through practice. You will not only learn drawing techniques, but also how to connect other disciplines and avenues of expression in your projects.
Addressed to:
This course is designed for adult audiences (18 years and older) who want to enter the world of cartoons and comics, regardless of their level of experience.
Time:
- Every Tuesday, indefinitely.
- We will work with practical objectives in each session and develop longer projects throughout each quarter.
Materials:
It is not necessary to bring materials; You just need your imagination and desire to enjoy the creative process.
