Cancer Society launches a program to increase local health monitoring

Ipoh: The Political Secretary of Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, the Minister of Finance, talked about learning that his one year old daughter was suspected of being leukemia.

He shared his story during the launch of the Malaysian National Cancer Society (NCSM) First Community Health Made (Maschon) program here on Wednesday (September 24)

“The doctor suspects that he may have leukemia, and naturally, as a father, a deeply hearing such news affects you,” he said

He said that the news was first transmitted by his wife when he was away from Kuala Kangsar on Tuesday.

“When I came here earlier today and the explanations and consciousness I made, it somehow gave me a new hope,” Muhammad Kamil said at the event that was held at NCSM’s Caritas at Kampung Sima here.

According to him, the initiative is designed to increase local communities through their health through self -monitoring.

NCSM CEO, prof. Dr. Murallithara’s Munisamy said that the program reaches nearly 1,500 people, focusing on women and Orang Asli communities in several parliamentary constituency with Pera, Johor, Melaka and Selangor.

According to him, 240 Community Health Care Monitoring Ombudsmen will also be trained, and eight micro -health observatories will be established to improve data collection and strengthen the local health control.

“Through this collaboration, we want to make sure that women and Orang Asli communities are not only careful, but also actively participating in their own health trip,” he said.

He stated that the focus is on local health issues, including sexual and reproductive health, malnutrition and prevention and management of infectious diseases (NCD).
