Emilia Pérez opens in theaters this weekend and Carlos Boyero has already given his verdict on the critics’Emilia Perez: a delirium with moments of talent by Jacques Audiard’, which you can read at this link.

Boyero claims not to believe anything about Audiard’s musical, which tells the story of a Mexican drug trafficking boss who decides to change gender: “I was stunned from the start. And I find it impossible to believe what he is telling me,” he writes.

“Based on the fact that I don’t believe anything for having such a prosaic and linear spirit, I recognize that it is shot not only with audacity and a desire for originality,” Boyero confesses. Although he acknowledges that the film “It is shot with audacity and a desire for originality” and it manages to entertain you: “In some moments it has a certain charm.”

Regarding the interpretation of the protagonists, Boyero foresees the Oscar nomination of the Spanish Karla Sofía Gascón, and praises the talent of Zoe Saldaña and Selena Gómez.
