Boudewijn Haverkort has been the dean of the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences (TSHD) since 2019. He served his second four-year term beginning in 2023. In recent years, Haverkort has defended digitization and artificial intelligence, among other things, as the academic director of society’s digital sciences and as the chairman of the JADS steering committee. In the new academic year, Haverkort will hold two more guest lectures for the new university-wide minor subject Digital Sciences for Society.

Haverkort returns to his old home in Twente: he started his studies there in 1982 and later graduated with a doctorate in computer science. He also worked as the head of the computer science department. Haverkort will start as dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) from October.
