The International Association of Performing Arts for Children and Youth Spain (ASSITEJ) is the winner of the National Prize for Performing Arts for Children and Youth 2025. The jury has granted them recognition “for their capital capacity to encourage, promote and disseminate creation and research” and has highlighted “their unquestionable work as an international promoter of contemporary theater in Spanish and other official languages, as well as her work in making Spanish female playwrights visible.”

The winner is a non-profit cultural association, with national and international reach, that has worked for 60 years on the right of access to art for children and young people through the performing arts. For this, it has a wide network of cultural agents such as companies, performing spaces, festivals, mediators, teachers, researchers and cultural managers. Among the actions they carry out, they include dissemination, professional meetings, support for creation, cultural mediation and the promotion of new, more accessible and inclusive cultural policies.

Due to their work as promoters of bridges between actors in the performing world, the jury has valued “their ability to stimulate a fruitful dialogue between dramatic literature and stage production, their mediation work, training of trainers and their ability to generate professional networks and circuits such as AUDACES.”

The 2024 award was given to the Miriñaque company, of which the jury highlighted its show for its “quality and innovative contribution to the performing arts aimed at early childhood.”
