The decorative painting art and design course is an introduction to decorative painting techniques, the study of colors and their interactions, the importance of textures, composition and balance of shapes, as well as the play of volumes.
Participants will learn the entire creative process. During the four sessions of the workshop, each day will pose a different challenge: varying the size, support or painting technique.
You will work with inks, watercolors, tempera paints, acrylics, markers and waxes, until you discover the most appropriate technique for each personal project.
Course dynamics
- Session 1: Acrylics and group collaboration
In this activity, each student chooses a color and uses its tone to color the works of the others in a rotating dynamic. Participants will cover the backgrounds of the works without patterns or sketches, only guided by intuition. Once the background is completed, each participant will return to their work to add details and personalize it, exploring their own style. - Session 2: Reverse technique with bleaching
It will be worked on a black support using bleach to “draw” by discoloration. - Session 3: Large format and Aboriginal technique
A large canvas will be divided into 16 parts and you will work with only three tones, plus the background and textures. Upon completion, the pieces will be joined together, giving rise to a large-format work. - Session 4: Small format and mixed technique
Watercolor, ink and wax will be combined to create a three-dimensional work in small format.

Participants must bring:
- A4 spiral notebook made of 90 gr Canson Sketch raw paper
