An advertising campaign based on the world of animation and manga aesthetics (Japanese style to draw and tell stories) will promote the bullfighting celebrations of the April Fair of Seville.
The Pagés company, which manages the Plaza de la Maestranza, has presented the creative process focused on the life of the bull, the glory and immortality that it can reach during the fight.
A two -minute video shows in animation the birth of the bull, the taking of identity in the Herradero, his life in the field, his passage through the square and his subsequent glory caused by the bravery.
“You are more immortal the more you die,” writes the Sevillian poet Antonio García Barbeito in the text that tells the story of the protagonist of the campaign, El Toro, “an animal capable of transcending her own life and staying for the story for her bravery in the ring,” according to the advertising campaign.
To develop this project, the Toromedia agencies have joined and in front of the text with the Sevillian producer 16 steps, which has been in charge of the animation work. In its elaboration a team of 20 people has worked among artists, animators, filmmakers, monters, sound specialists, designers and screenwriters.
In the creation of the spot, a combination of drawing, 2D and 3D techniques that allow a balance between traditional aesthetics and technological innovation has been used. “From the meticulous recreation of the Plaza de la Maestranza, perfectly integrated with the rest of the scenarios, to the precision in each movement of the characters, every detail was carefully worked to offer a unique visual experience,” according to a note released by Pagés.
The presentation ceremony was held yesterday at the José Luis García Palacios Cultural Center in Seville, headquarters of the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation, and was attended, among others, the businessman Ramón Valencia and his son, of the same name, author of the idea of the campaign, the largest budget of how many the Pagés company has launched.
