The Ángel del Pozo actor, one of the faces of the film genre known as Swestern paghettihas died this Saturday at 90 years of age, as reported by the program Fiesta of Telecinco. This genre allowed him to develop an international career, in which he shared poster with stars such as Lee Van Cleef, Christopher Lee, Jean Rochefort, Yul Brynner and Orson Welles.
Throughout his career, he participated in more than 60 titles, of which more than 30 belong to the genre western. From the 1990s until 2008, Executive and Public Relations producer was also in Telecinco Gesters, the current Mediaset Spain Communication Group.
From 1960 he participated in the big screen in films such as Margarita is called my lovedirected by Tito Fernández; Valentine’s Dayby Fernando Palacios; The fourth windowby Julio Coll; or in the Spanish-tonate co-production, A way a wayamong other titles.
He also worked as film director with feature films such as The promisewhere he directed Carmen Sevilla and Antonio Ferrandis; either The stashstarring Juan Luis Galiardo.
In 2020, Almería Western Film Festival (AWFF) recognized him with the Film Tabernas Award. “One day, my representative told me that a foreign director was looking for Spanish actors for a west movie that were going to shoot in Almeria and asked me if we were interested. We went to do a test. They told me to sit in an armchair with my light giving me on my face and should convince them,” he then recalled in the being the actor. “The truth is that in almost all the movies I did not arrive alive at the end, they killed me before. Although I also killed some, but always in self -defense,” I had humor in this interview.
