On Saturday 27th April members of the Nederweert Adoption Graves Foundation welcomed Bill Moran and his son Andy from Leith Edinburgh, Scotland. They visited the grave of Peter Moran, Bill’s uncle. Pipers Society Castle d’Aldenghoor bagpiper Jeanine Stassen’s performance provided an impressive musical backdrop during the ceremony.

Peter Moran

Peter served in the 8th Battalion Royal Scots, part of the 15th Scottish Infantry Division. He was killed on November 2, 1944 at the age of 21 near Neerkant. After the ceremony, Bill and Andy, along with adopter Harrie Cortenbach and his wife from Neerkant, visited the place where Peter was killed. Researcher Jurgen Beekers guided them in this.
