It is difficult to know how many times Miles Davis or John Coltrane have been performed throughout the 61 editions of the San Sebastián Jazz Festival, but through their compositions, not to mention their influence, we can shamelessly surmise that in all of them. In terms of presence, in the flesh, Coltrane was unable to play at the festival (he died before its second edition, in 1967), although Davis did so on three occasions throughout the 1980s. This year, in the heat of the centenary of the birth of both musicians, the festival, which ran from July 22 to 26, hosted several unique projects that are touring profusely throughout Europe and the United States to celebrate the anniversary.
