David Afkham came out for the tip with a Spanish national team scarf and led the intermission of Luis Alonso’s weddingby Gerónimo Giménez, as a farewell to his twelve years at the head of the National Orchestra and Choir of Spain. The gesture did not need translation for the audience at the BBC Proms, also pending the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
