On an afternoon in which, with even greater ease than in the rest of the fair, up to six ears were cut off – four of them for Tomás Rufo, who came out on his shoulders – and in which the bravest and most complete bullfight of the Sanfermines was fought with Jandilla’s iron, only Juan Ortega did the bullfighting of sincerity and quality that the horned bulls deserved.

Jandilla/Ortega, Rock, Rufo
Six bulls of Jandillavery good looking and generally suitable workmanship, seriously and without ostentation. In general, for bravery and class, the most complete bullfight of the fair, with the exception of Juan Ortega’s lot, with less background. The third, Punished, No. 80, black mulatto ribbon, 565 kilos, was awarded with his return to the ring in drag,
Juan Ortega: very low forward lunge (ear); front fall lunge (ovation after ear request).
King Rock: detached lunge (ear); prick deep and detached forward lunge (silence).
Thomas Rufo: detached rear lunge (two ears after warning); lunge through fall (two ears with request tail). He came out on shoulders.
Among the teams, Jorge Fuentes stood out with two pairs of merit to the first.
Pamplona Square. Tenth and last celebration of the San Fermín fair, with a full house (19,500 spectators) on a stiflingly hot afternoon.
