The Bayeux tapestry arrives at the British Museum, at dawn, and amidst tight security measures

At 2:50 in the morning this Friday (3:50 in Spanish peninsular time), the Bayeux tapestry, one of the largest and most delicate jewels of French heritage, has arrived at the British Museum in London, where it will be exhibited for the first time on British soil from September 10, until July of next year. Amid strong security and protection measures, this medieval work, 70 meters long and 0.7 meters high, has reached its final destination, the museum’s unloading dock, after a long journey from a secret location in northern France, and escorted by the police of that country.
