As for Lawson, it’s odd to think she hasn’t appeared on British TV screens since 2023, when a Christmas special aired (for which she was nominated for a Bafta). Even more significant is that the star hasn’t hosted her own full series since 2020, when Cook, Eat, Repeat ran for six episodes alongside the launch of her cookbook of the same name. And so it feels like a significant period of time since Lawson was a regular, ever-present part of British cooking culture, having started out as a journalist for the Sunday Times in the Eighties (she was even, very briefly, a restaurant reviewer).
