The new Simpson’s will comprise two restaurants, two bars and a small ballroom for private events. Its most famous space, the Grand Divan, is to be the heart of the operation, and its famous silver carving trolleys will be returning. It will open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a menu of grills, roasts, pies and game. As it used to be, the wine list will lean heavily on France. Interestingly, breakfast sounds particularly good, with a Full English offered — here renamed The 10 Deadly Sins — and among the usual fare will be black pudding, kidney and bubble and squeak. Perfect with a glass of claret.
