Quentin Tarantino has not been behind a camera for six years while the world awaits his legendary tenth film, with which, as he has declared, he will put an end to his career. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t continue to create movie-related headlines. Known for having no filter when it comes to expressing his opinions, the director of Pulp Fiction has listed in the podcast by writer Bret Easton Ellis his twenty favorite films of the 21st century. In addition to the list, in which expected choices coexist with more surprising ones, the opinion that has been released about the actor Paul Dano has also gone around the world.

In your top 10, in ascending order, we find Midnight in Pariswhere actor Owen Wilson stands out; Zombies Party; Mad Max: Fury Roadwhich praises the impeccable work of director George Miller; and the unexpected Unstoppablea railway action film by the late Tony Scott. Reaching the fifth best film of the century for him, Wells of ambition, He assured that he would have placed it higher if it had not been for Paul Dano: “The film has a huge flaw, and that flaw is Paul Dano,” he says. “He’s lazy, man,” he says about the performer, who he says is one of the worst actors in the entire guild.

The list continues with Zodiaca film to which he returns every few years as if it were a ritual; Wells of ambitionwhich I would have placed higher if it weren’t for her opinion of Paul Dano; Dunkirkwhich he confesses not having appreciated on his first viewing; Lost in Translationwhich he describes as “delicious” and about which he comments that he has raved about it with Pedro Almodóvar; and Toy Story 3 (as second best film), which compares with none other than The good, the bad and the ugly for the way it closes a trilogy. The crown is put on Black Hawk Downdirected in 2001 by Ridley Scott and which he says at the time impressed him so much that he did not return to it for a long time, but over the years he has come to consider it a masterpiece. The director assures that he especially admires its visual ambition and its ability to transmit the essence of Apocalypse Now.
