The Albrighton and District Historical Society always tries to book a talk that is in some way related to Remembrance Sunday, and our November talk is no exception. David Bardell is our speaker and he has spent many years researching the history of the First World War. The topic of his talk on Monday, November 3rd is Crimson Fields. This discussion is about the medical warfare that was fought during the Great War.

Factor: assistant John Stretton

Many heroic actions did not take place with a gun or a bayonet, but nurses, orderlies and doctors fought for the lives of the wounded.

The speech certainly covers lesser-known events and also touches on the development of medicine and surgery, which unfortunately are often only possible because of war.

The debate starts at 7.30pm at the Red House in Albrighton on Monday 3rd November. Just £3 on the door for visitors. Come and join us!
