Three people were arrested at the scene

The worried staff of the Northern Ireland Construction Association helped the police to stop the suspected kidnapping and fraud after their suspicions.

The staff of the Newry Construction Association contacted the police yesterday, Friday, September 26, when they asked a client who tried to make “very big” in cash.

Police said the client, the vulnerable parent, followed three adults whose staff believed to use dominant behavior. The officers participated in the scene and made several inquiries before arresting three people on suspicion of several crimes, including fraud and human trafficking.

Detective inspector Keon said: “The staff of the Construction Association contacted us yesterday, Friday, September 26, when they used banking protocol legislation to ask a number of questions about the customer who tried to make a very big cash.

“The customer, the vulnerable parent, followed three adults whose staff believed to show dominant behavior.

“We are grateful that these staff informed us right away, allowing us to take the necessary steps while the customer was still on the premises. The officers attended the scene and completed several inquiries.

“Three people – two 68 and 42 -year -old men and a 69 -year -old woman – then arrested the suspicion of trying to get property in the possession of objects used in fraud and fraud.

“Later, they were still arrested for suspicion of abduction, trafficking and fraud by the wrong representation. They are currently arrested.”

Detective inspector Keon explained: “Banking Protocol has a UK -wide initiative through which the staff of the financial institutions branch can inquire about financial transactions such as deposits, cash withdrawals or payment transfers to protect customers from financial criminals.

“The bank protocol sees financial institutions and the police work in cooperation to secure citizens and protect their money.

“We are committed to doing our best to prevent and reduce the number of committed financial crimes, especially against older people.

“Regardless of where you run financial transactions, staff will help if you have concerns or concerns. Consumers and companies can report financial offense to action fraud on 0300 123 2040 or PSNI 101.”
