A new foundation has been established in the northeast to open the “enormous potential” of the area.

The Society Matters Foundation, launched on March 24 at St James’ Park, is a purpose -based organization born of success This is the north podcast.

The foundation, led by Alison Dunn, CEO of Society Matters, aims to give the north a stronger sound on national issues and to “bring about real changes”.

The start -up event brought together the inspirational speakers of the starry sky, including Kim McGuess, Northeast Mayor, who dealt with urgent regional challenges such as children’s poverty, traffic and his recently reported growth plan.

Expert views were also offered by Professor Greta Defetter Obe from the University of Northumbia, an independent financial advisor Dr. Nicola Headlam and Alice Wiseman, Director of Gateshead and Newcastle Public Health, and the panel discussions focused on promoting regional growth.

Alison said, reflecting the event, “I can’t thank the speakers and participants enough.

“The Society Matters Foundation aims to make a real change in our area, and the start -up event could not have been better.

“The energy and purpose of that room was inspirational and emphasized common goals and frustrations that so many of us have been distributed to open up huge potentials in the area.

“I left the event more determined to continue the struggle for northeast -credible people, and I look forward to building these relationships that will be formed at the start.

“We will meet again in the fall, bringing more speakers and partners, so see this space.”
