The UK’s Royal Association does not take disciplinary action against Elon Musk of his behavior, claiming that “more harm than beneficial” would be made into judgments that may be considered political.
Sir Adrian Smith, President of the National Academy of Sciences, announced the decision to the scholarships on Tuesday and told them that the challenges faced by science were “much broader than any person”.
The attitude of society, which called an extraordinary meeting of Musk’s grant this month, is disappointed with researchers that technology should be censored or even expelled.
They say that he has distributed false information, made unjustified attacks on the former US public health official Anthony Fauc, and monitors major cuts to his US research institutes for expenditure through his Ministry of Administration (DOGE).
But in the scholarships, Smith said: “The Council of the Council of the Society of Society is that condemnation of the views and actions of scholarships, especially political, could do more harm than benefit than to society and the cause of science in general.”
“The Council believes that disciplinary proceedings should not be started for such reasons,” he added an email that the guardian first announced.
Smith said that the 365-year-old societies had been guided by members of its more than 1,500 people of members of the grant, including at a special meeting, Smith said.

US science is turbulent after President Donald Trump’s administration changed large funding cuts to leading research institutes and to curb research, including in diversity, vaccines and climate change.

Musk, CEO of Electric Vehicle Manufacturer Tesla and SpaceX, was elected to the royal society in 2018.
His constant membership has caused the criticism of two other researchers. The Academy’s Code of Conduct states that scholarships have “sought to maintain the reputation of society,” and note that the remarks made as a personal characteristic can still affect it.
Nobel-winning artificial intelligence pioneering and social mate Geoffrey Hinton said this month that Musk will be expelled “huge damage” to the US scientific institutions.
In response, Musk said only “Craven, insecure fools care about prizes and membership” and added that Hinton’s claims were “carelessly ignorant, cruel and false”.
