Layout-wise, the dark wooden cabinetry topped with light worksurfaces wraps around the room in a horseshoe shape to create an intuitive and social flow, while there’s a luxurious narrow central island for preparation and entertaining with pendant lighting above and wooden stools along one side. “It’s one of the best decisions I made as I can chat with friends and family while prepping,” explains McKenna. Indeed, you can just imagine the conversations and parties that unfold around the jewel in this particular crown! There’s a huge wine fridge, of course, while other chef-grade appliances come in the form of a double white oven with matching hood – “the most important decision I made for the kitchen,” says McKenna — and a freestanding American-style fridge-freezer, all from SMEG.
