Lancaster tab trying to do a political society

Lancaster-Tab’s visit to Lancaster University Politics Society (LUPS) offered laughter, thought-provoking conversation, and even parliamentary pandemonium

The Lancaster University Politics Society debate was accompanied by decentralized Rants and occasional intellectual views. Suitably (and unfortunately) reflects our heroic officials in Westminster.

Our visit was asked: “Is weak democracy worse than human dictatorship?”, Which was nice and light on a cold and wet Thursday night.

Before the meeting began, it was amazing to see the lack of partisan boundaries. Individuals from all over the political spectrum had all practiced pre -treatment of political events and the latest recognition in Alllanc.

At the beginning of the meeting, the definitions were presented, which means that anyone could get the basis for understanding. The assistants were selected in the structured “hand up” style, whose loud oral politicians could do everywhere.

Meeting

The first argument constantly emphasized the inability to get a human dictatorship. Many after many stood and gave their passionate speech to other members. The marking of the United Kingdom as a weak democracy was a consensus because it is unable to represent administrative practice. Look, told me it was a nice and light topic!

It was acknowledged that these factors were presented a little more gravitas, where “Keir Stalin” and “the Democracy of theses” were thrown.

After that, the conservative person suddenly promised his alliance to the Chinese Communist Party. Waving its membership card into the room and proudly claiming that China was really free (of course censorship and human rights abuse). Later, the POL SOC trip to North Korea was posed, so keep an eye on that Instagram announcement and later on the arrest of most members.

Jokes and theaters aside, members brought to the question really insightful and stimulating approaches. One person showed the observed façade in democracy. He continued to pay attention to the idea that the laws were written in the minds of companies, and the parties are simply political soldiers to this company. In addition, a member claimed to be convincing that the Bi -Decade vaal cycle does not guarantee democracy. Although individuals are distracted by whom to vote, companies lead by a real rule (and breakdown).

Accessibility

No previous information on policy is required for joining society. The stiffness of the party is not a question, and it is actively discouraged, the virtues of tolerance and understanding support the basics of their meetings.

Meetings will be advertised on the Lancaster University Politics Society Instagram page, and questions will be sent days earlier. Learning the study, thoroughly or only 10 seconds of acknowledgment during judgment protection.

The questions can be sent in the Google document. In addition, society will vote for the question of the question of the WhatsApp group discussion. In addition, the group discussion allows members to keep in touch and up -to -date with ongoing political events.

What can you get from this society?

LUPS and its meetings will be built to speak, listen and understand other perspectives. As a result, meetings are facilities where respectful discussion and jests are encouraged.

Lancaster University has a reasonable share of political party societies, but here the party members and neutral members meet to discuss and listen by creating an environment of tolerance and neutrality.

Events outside the sessions

The political society is not just limited on Thursday night. There are many events outside the meetings, including social societies with Law Society and many others. Recently, the flagship event has been a “tips in questioning time”, with the usual BBC One program repeating, and the amount of proper alcohol that makes some inconsistent political debate somewhat tolerable.

Newer events include Pub Golf Social, a part of the parties, where the score receives certain drinks in certain places.

Upcoming events include the long -awaited policy ball in the summer season. Yes, politics can now finally be unofficially and inappropriate to discuss comfortable clothes at the table, with alcohol! Sounds like a gathering of Christmas families.

But in all severity the abundance of sociality is a certificate that what LUP has available

The royal tab trying to agree to the Political Association

So finally, should you go to the Lancaster University Politics Society association?

Lancaster University Politics Society offers a lot of fun, fascinating discussion and chaos between parties.

Society bridges ideological gaps and offers a place where unlikely agreements and surprising disagreements are facilitated in a hospitable environment.

Members of Parliament, Anarchists, Environmental Protectors, Communists, Conservatives, Liberals and much more are welcome to meetings. If you have an interest in politics or you are “politically unstable” -lancaster University Politics Society is a society that you unfortunately unfortunately do not join!

Meetings will be held every Thursday at 6:30 pm and will be held at the Management School, Lecture Theater 8.
